You may qualify for a grant if you live in a home that’s expensive to heat or if you or someone in your household is vulnerable to cold. You could also be eligible if you receive any of the following benefits:
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- Income-related Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)
- Income Support (IS)
- Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
- Working Tax Credit (WTC)
- Child Tax Credits (CTC)
- Universal Credit (UC)
- Housing Benefit (new eligible benefit under ECO4)
- Pension Credit Savings Credit (new eligible benefit under ECO4)
In addition, low-income households and those with homes that have poor energy efficiency ratings (EPC) could also qualify. This is a change from previous schemes, where eligibility was limited to households receiving government benefits.
Grants may not always cover the entire cost of installation, and you might need to contribute in some cases. For lower-cost measures, such as loft insulation and certain boilers, the grant is likely to cover the full installation cost. For more costly measures like solar PV systems and heat pumps, the grant may only cover part of the costs.
Even if the grant doesn’t cover the full expense, it’s still worth applying. It can greatly reduce the installation costs, and we may also be able to offer additional discounts to help lower your overall expenses.
Several programs offer grant assistance to help households improve the energy efficiency of their homes. Some of the grant schemes you can apply for include ECO4, LA Flex, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, and the Great British Insulation Scheme. These programs offer funding to help with various eco-friendly home improvements.
You can receive grant funding for a variety of eco-friendly improvements, such as insulation, solar panels (and batteries), heat pumps, and new boilers. These grants are completely free and don’t need to be paid back. They’re intended to help households cut down on energy usage, lower their bills, and reduce their carbon footprint.
